John Bishop – Roller Coaster Tour Oct 2012 Liverpool Echo Arena
I’ve seen John Bishop before in a small venue in Brighton called the Komedia. I would say the room with a small stage holds about 250 people at the most we usually go and see a line up of 3 on a Friday or Saturday night not always knowing who you are going to get we have come across some blinding acts in the past.
John Bishop in this setting was very personal and the 20 minutes he chatted on stage before starting the actual show was hilarious having found someone in the audience who had an aunt he had “got off with” in John Bishops words when he was young.
Seeing John Bishop in his home town the crowds were very vocal and some of the material was maybe only relevant to those who know the local area, but very funny all the same.
John Bishop a story teller at heart provided a light hearted look life and love and waxing.
The end of the show which he asked for complete secrecy was one of the funniest turn arounds I’ve seen in a comedy show. Rollercoaster Tour.GOxx
